Thanks for this Chris, an interesting study. Some of the discussions we've been having with Cameron Neylon about open access publishing and changing the peer review process by the use of technology could have an interesting effect on the academic integrity of research. If the review process for a paper was open, published and viewed at the same time as the research, if data was deposited in full at the time of publication so it could be reviewed by the reader (see: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/09/29/yamal_scandal/) would such practices still occur? Is openess the only way to go?

Yes, good picks. Good to see Horizon back on song (finally), and I think Bang goes the theory is creditable, even though I could do without the rather phony presentation style of Dallas (is that his name?). The other male geek is very good though.

Great article!

Video tapping your practice interviews is a great suggestion. I would also suggest that you practice with a wide variety of people. One should crave feedback - it's a great way to improve.

"Custom essays are no different from finding you essay answer in a text book, website or journal" This is exactly the sort of disingenuous sophistry that is designed to lead students astray and which is very damaging to their academic progress - there is a world of difference between a student developing and practising the research and critical skills required to construct a good answer to an essay compared with handing over cash for someone else to cobble together an answer for them to copy.
